Special Note: Awareness and Vigilance during the Pandemic

Dear Parishioners:

As things continue to change rapidly, we have been instructed by the Bishop of Hamilton, His Excellency, Douglas Crosby, OMI, DD, to suspend all public Masses and gatherings. As a Priest for nearly 22 years, I could never have imagined this. However, we need to look out for each other. One great way is to pray. We need prayers more than ever.

Also, check in with each other over the phone/email. While the Parish Office, Church and Hall will be closed (at least until April 7, 2020), we will still attend to all phone calls and emails. I will offer private Masses for your intentions and offer a private Mass for all of you on Sunday.

The bulletins will be published, online and copies for those who want one. I can still see Parishioners, but by appointment only. Let us adhere to the instructions of our public health officials. Stay home if sick, do the necessary things and keep a safe distance. We will get through this. Also, please remember your continuing support for the Parish.

Below is a special prayer that the Pope Francis offered:

O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm. You, Salvation of God’s People, know what we need, and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana in Galilee, we may return to feasting after this time of trial. Help us Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us through the cross to the joy of the resurrection. Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of who we are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen
.

God bless, Fr. Peter Ciallella

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
(when not able to attend mass)

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.
